In this article, we will describe this evolution and how web development has altered the Internet, over the years.

The Early Days of Web Development (1990s)

At first, web design and development was simply the process of making static HTML pages. It was a wretched environment full of pages lacking details, and websites fulfilled their purposes to the fullest. **HTML** (Hypertext Markup Language) was the central pillar that structured every part of an webpage.

1991 HTML Introduced First websites were built using HTML, the language created by Tim Berners-Lee.
1995 JavaScript and PHP JavaScript was released to make pages interactive. PHP followed to help with backend development.

The Rise of Styles and Interactivity (2000s)

In this century, **CSS** i.e. Cascading Style Sheets; was used a lot to design the attractive style of web applications. This helped the developer to enhance the attractive design of the webpage. Along with **JavaScript**, the use of CSS with these two technologies made websites more interactive.

  • 2005 - Introduction of AJAX, enabling faster page loads and real-time data.

Modern Era of Web Development (2010s - Present)

As we might expect, the concept of web applications has taken a significant leap forward thanks to the advent of frameworks such as React, Angular, which enable even complex applications to be built at a greater speed.
